$10.8 Million New Construction in UP

I drive by this house everyday since it's a block away from my office and I have to say it catches my eye every time. But almost $11 million dollars? Granted it's got 12,500 square feet on a 100x230 lot in the Volk Estates area but that puts this home at a staggering $866 per sf! However, that's not too far off from a recent sale on Turtle Creek that was also new construction. According to the description this home boasts 2 prep kitchens, a billiards room, a 2,300 bottle wine vault (is that different than a wine room?) and an outdoor living area with a pizza oven. Sounds pretty cool. But seriously. $10.8 million smackers? I'll make sure to take a look at this one and get back to you with a report.

7037 Vassar Avenue closed May 14^th with an undisclosed sales price. Of course. Ginger Nobles of Briggs-Freeman brought the buyer. I want to see that commission check. Cha-ching! This is certainly Dallas’ most expensive sale EVER according to North Texas Real Estate Information Systems. The next 2 most expensive sales in the last 5 years are pretty impressive too. But not anywhere close to this one! Anyone know the scoop on the buyer??

More homes you can't afford

Yesterday I walked through Allie Beth’s new listing on Hunters Glen. For a cool $18,500,000 it could’ve been mine. But the kitchen (remodeled in 1990) needed a little updating and that’s just too much work for me. While walking through the home I overheard news that Cynthia Beaird’s listing on Vassar - $22,500,000 –just went under contract and a home on Baltimore recently closed for over $18 million. This is all in the last few weeks. Slow market in Dallas??? I don't think so.
